I-T dept raids 2 top officials

Bengaluru, Dec 1: The Income Tax Department officials on Wednesday conducted raids on two government officials and a business house.

While, the I-T Department remained tight-lipped about the searches, it is not confirmed if the raids were in connection with demonetisation or regular raids.

Sources said that the raids were conducted on the premises belonging to T N Chikkarayappa, Managing Director of Cauvery Neeravari Nigama Ltd, S C Jayachandra, Chief Project Officer of State Highway Development Project and one Chakravarthy, managing partner of Kannan Borewells. The raids were conducted at several flats and houses in Banaswadi, Dollars Colony and Chandra Layout.

A senior official of the I-T Department told DH that a detailed release will be issued in a day or two about the raids.
