Newsroom, Nov 28: Vishwesha Teertha Swami, one of the masterminds behind the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and the chief pontiff of Pejawar Mutt, has urged Muslims to support construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya with the intention of establishing peace in the country.

Addressing the gathering at an event to mark Chidambareshwar Jayanti at Sudi near Gajendragad in Gadag, the seer said, Muslims should herald a new era of harmony in the country by supporting the cause of Ram Mandir.

“Construction of Ram Temple will not cause any harm to Muslims. If the Muslims support construction of temple at Ram Janmabhoomi, it will usher in a new era of communal harmony and brotherhood,” the seer added.

“Ram Mandir at Ayodhya is a long-standing demand of Hindus. Despite many struggles over the years, the temple at Ayodhya has remained a dream. It should not become just an election issue. The Narendra Modi-led Union government should promulgate an ordinance to facilitate an early construction of Ram Mandir,” he said.

Dear respected Seer

This is all election gimmick.

BJP dont have any Muddah to move with.  So they are trying to fool the hindu brothers and sisters by  playing with their sentiments. Even the locals both Hindu and muslims of Ayodya doesnt want to  communicalise this issue.  But BJP and its supporters need to - Why because next year is 2019.

Let the SC decide whom the disputed land belongs to- Why you can't wait llike the minorities???

in the other hand you got full mandate in State as well as in Centre. Why you didn't take action in these 4 and half years like your govt has done for minorities issues like tripple talak, removal of subsidy to haj pilgrimage, etc etc?? and changing the islamic  names of cities  etc??

Dear Sir - Why now a days you are poking your nose in all political and religious issues!!!!

Being a Hindu, I wont recommend to build such building which is not going help anybody in physical world. Instead of that, build as many as houses for homeless poor people. give jobs to educated as well as uneducated people (not pakoda making)

SHRIMP.jpg

Mangaluru, Dec 7: A rare bamboo shrimp has been rediscovered on mainland India more than 70 years after it was last reported, confirming for the first time the presence of Atyopsis spinipes in the country. The find was made by researchers from the Centre for Climate Change Studies at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, during surveys in Karnataka and Odisha.

The team — shrimp expert Dr S Prakash, PhD scholar K Kunjulakshmi, and Mangaluru-based researcher Maclean Antony Santos — combined field surveys, ecological assessments and DNA analysis to identify the elusive species. Their findings, published in Zootaxa, resolve decades of taxonomic confusion stemming from a 1951 report that misidentified the species as Atyopsis moluccensis without strong evidence.

The shrimp has now been confirmed at two locations: the Mulki–Pavanje estuary near Mangaluru and the Kuakhai River in Bhubaneswar. Historical specimens from the Andaman Islands, previously labelled as A. moluccensis, were also found to be misidentified and actually belong to A. spinipes.

The rediscovery began after an aquarium hobbyist in Odisha spotted a shrimp in 2022, prompting systematic surveys across Udupi, Karwar and Mangaluru. Four female specimens were collected in Mulki and one in Odisha, all genetically matching.

Researchers warn the species may exist in very small, vulnerable populations as freshwater habitats face increasing pressure from pollution, sand mining and infrastructure development. All verified specimens have been deposited with the Zoological Survey of India for future reference.
