Constitution is supreme; Muslims are inherent part of ‘Hindu Rashtra’: RSS chief

New Delhi, Sept 18: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday said the country's Constitution is supreme and is like a "consensus guide" for all. Mr Bhagwat also said the vision of 'Hindu Rashtra' as spoken about vis-a-vis RSS philosophy will always have a place for Muslims.

"The day we will have a situation that we do not need Muslims, that day the very purpose of Hindu Rashtra will be defeated," he said.

"Apna samvidhan apne desh ka consensus hae (Our constitution is our country's consensus guide created by unanimity of all)," Mr Bhagwat said addressing the second day session of the special outreach programme organised by the Sangh fountainhead here.

He said the Hindutva according to RSS ideologies is committed to 'desh bhakti (love for the country)', pride about past legacy and the commitment to uphold traditional and cultural values.

He said RSS believes in the principles of equitable share of the properties and wealth and said similarly the viewpoint about life is that it need not be 'successful only' - "it should be meaningful too".

He said there is need for evolving an alternative developmental model based on Indian and Hindutva ethos.

Giving clarion call for evolving a different and alternative developmental model, he said "We should be guarded against following the established norms...The west has a different model, we can have our own".

"Our developmental model should be committed to 'Sabka Vikas and Santhulit Vikas (a development for all and balanced)," he said adding even the rest of the world is doing the same now. He emphasised that India has always done that.
Reading out the preamble of the Constitution, he pointed that words like secularism and socialism were incorporated later but in today's reality it is part of the country's Constitution.

Referring to BR Ambedkar's remarks about the need for 'fraternity' among all, he said this 'unity in diversity' is what the struggle of RSS is all about. "This underlining theme of unity is Hindutva," he said.

Mr Bhagwat sought to clarify that the vision of Hindutva or a Hindu Rashtra does not dream of a country - where there is no Muslim.

"Hindu Rashtra hae, isliye Muslim nahi rahega - aisa bilkool nahi hae (Just because we dream of a Hindu Rashtra, that does not mean, we have no place for Muslims)". The day there will be a situation that "we do not need Muslims, that day the very purpose of Hindu Rahstra will be defeated," he said.

The three-day meet will conclude here on Wednesday. The Tuesday session was attended among others by JD(U) leader KC Tyagi, Union Ministers Uma Bharti and RK Singh.

This man does not know what he talks.

If he has respect for SECULAR CONSTITUTION, why does he talk of HINDU RASHTRA with Muslims.

Can he accept name MUSLIM RASHTRA OR CHRISTIAN RASHTRA   OR SIKH RASHTRA with all people.

Our question is when secularism is accepted why HINDU RASHTRA to be called.

In secularism, it is upto every citizen by his/her free will what do they choose to follow.

You follow your religion, I follow what I want to. Don’t mess up.

Think what you can do for your own poor people suffering in the name of cast system, dowry, poverty.

God bless our country, our people.

Mangaluru: Public transport in Mangaluru is set for a state-led transformation as the government moves to deploy 100 new electric govt buses to replace unreliable private services. The initiative aims to provide a dependable alternative to private operators who have been frequently "cutting trips," leaving thousands of commuters stranded.

The announcement was made by Deputy Commissioner and MCC Administrator Darshan HV during a public phone-in session. The move specifically targets routes where private bus service has become erratic, ensuring that citizens no longer have to rely on a fluctuating private sector for their daily commute.

Restoring the Govt Presence

The transport crisis was brought to the forefront by Ramayya, a resident of Bajal, who highlighted a growing trend of private buses skipping morning and night trips. With the previous KSRTC (govt) services discontinued, residents have been left without a fallback option.

To fix this, the DC confirmed that the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme will bring 100 government-owned electric buses to the city:

•    Phased Deployment: The first 50 of the new 100 government buses are scheduled to arrive by March 2026.

•    State Infrastructure: Two new government depots, including one at Mudipu, are being prepared for operations.

•    Recruitment: The state has already begun training a new batch of government bus drivers to ensure the fleet is operational the moment it arrives.

Mangaluru police have arrested a 27-year-old NRI on his return from Saudi Arabia in connection with an Instagram post allegedly containing derogatory and provocative remarks about the Hindu religion, officials said on Monday.

The accused, Abdul Khader Nehad, a resident of Ulaibettu in Mangaluru, was working in Saudi Arabia when the post was uploaded, police said.

A suo motu case was registered at the Bajpe police station on October 11 after an allegedly offensive post circulated from the Instagram account ‘team_sdpi_2025’. Police said the content was flagged for being provocative and derogatory in nature.

During the investigation, technical analysis traced the Instagram post to Nehad, who was residing abroad at the time, a senior police officer said. Based on these findings, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him.

On December 14, Nehad arrived from Saudi Arabia at Calicut International Airport in Kerala, where he was taken into custody on arrival. Police said further investigation is underway.
