In the high-voltage contest between the bitter rivals, India again emerged victorious in a rather one-sided affair, thus maintaining their magnificent record against Pakistan by winning the sixth consecutive World Cup game since the rivalry started way back in 1992.
The much-hyped clash kept the people indoor for around eight hours in the weekend. Many youth gathered at City Centre and Forum Mall to watch the match.
As the team Indian dismissed the opposition for 224 in 47 overs at the Adelaide Oval to secure two points, the euphoric cricket crazy denizens flocked the streets to savour the victory. They hugged one another, distributed sweets, and waved the tricolour. In parts of the city fans took out mini-processions. The celebrations are expected to continue into the night.
