Darshan appeared before the South Division police on Saturday and recorded his statement about his alleged harassment of his wife Vijayalakshmi and told the police that he would sort out the differences in consultation with elders in both families and in the film industry.

Darshan went to Thyagarajnagar police station where Banashankari sub-division ACP's office is also housed. Banashankari sub-division ACP Lokesh Kumar and CK?Achchukattu police inspector B K?Shekhar interrogated him. Darshan was at the police station for about one hour and denied allegations levelled against him by his wife Vijayalakshmi.

“I did not harass my wife Vijayalakshmi as I could not meet her on March 9,” the actor recorded in his statement.

“I had gone to Prestige South Ridge Apartment at Hoskerehalli around 7 pm on March 9 to see my son Vinish. I parked my vehicle at the parking lot and went to the flat number 4154 where my wife stays. The apartment security guard Devaraj prevented me from going upstairs. I told him that I had come to see my son and went upstaris.?There was no response from inside when I pressed the calling bell,” Darshan stated.

“I was about to leave when Devaraj came upstairs. He asked me why I went upstairs even when he had told me that Vijayalakshmi was not at the flat. I told him to move away as I wanted to leave.?I went down to the parking lot to leave. I could not meet my wife in person on that day. Hence, I did not harass my wife,” the actor stated.

“This is purely our domestic issue and we will sort out the issue in consultation with family elders and seniors in the film industry,” Darshan added in the statement. The police directed Darshan to appear before them if summoned in future over his wife's allegations.

Senior actor and Housing Minister Ambarish is yet to meet Vijayalakshmi and evolve a compromise between the two to end the discord. It is said that the two would be united by Sunday evening and the couple is likely to make a joint statement.

Vijayalakshmi, who has been staying separately for the last 19 months, in a petition to CK?Achchukattu police on March 9 had alleged that Darshan harassed her, used foul language and thrashed security guard Devaraj. She also requested the police to summon Darshan and issue warnings. Devaraj had also filed a separate complaint.

Mangaluru, Dec 20: City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has issued a high-alert warning to vehicle owners regarding a surge in cyber fraud targeting those looking to pay traffic violation fines. Fraudsters are reportedly exploiting recent government discount schemes on traffic penalties to deceive citizens.

The Scam: How Fraudsters Strike

Criminals are using SMS, WhatsApp, and social media to circulate suspicious links and APK files (Android application packages). They claim these apps allow users to pay e-challans at a discount.

•    Device Hacking: Downloading these unauthorized apps gives hackers full access to the victim's smartphone.

•    Financial Theft: Once the phone is compromised, fraudsters intercept OTPs and personal data to drain bank accounts.

•    Phishing Sites: Fake websites mimicking official portals are also being used to harvest banking credentials.

Already, two residents within Mangaluru city limits have reported significant financial losses after falling victim to these fraudulent apps.
