Mangalore, Jul 12: Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim has instructed all deputy registrars to install closed circuit camera compulsorily in Dakshina Kannada district with an objective to tackle corruption and make official proceedings transparent.
The DC told officials that cameras should be installed before July 20. Further, the DC also made it mandatory to display the fee prescribed for various applications in all deputy registrar offices. He also directed officials not to make any private transactions inside the office premises.
"Officials should prepare a list of fee prescribed for various government transactions and the same should be displayed prominently on the walls of deputy registrars' offices. All employees in deputy registrars' offices should declare the total cash in their hands every day. No unauthorized cash transaction will be allowed in the office and if anyone demands money, then the same matter should be brought to the notice of the Lokayukta. This message also should be displayed on the notice board prominently," the DC said.
