Mangalore, Jul 9: The District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) Inspector Basheer Ahmed who was accused of allegedly framing a local BJP leader in drug case has been transferred on the grounds of “dereliction of duty”.

The Additional Superintendent of the Police Shivkumar, has confirmed the transfer by the Karnataka Home Ministry in a letter on July 8.
It may be recalled that BJP leader and entrepreneur Ronald D'Souza from Badaje in Amtady village in Bantwal taluk alleged that the Inspector had kept ganja packets in his car parked in front of his shop on May 26.
D'Souza also complained this to Home Minister K J George who belongs to same community who in turn directed the home department to issue orders for Basheer Ahmed's transfer.
