Dharwad, Mar 21: The death toll in the collapse of multi-story building under construction touched in Dharwad city on Tuesday touched 11 today even as Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on visited the spot and Hospitals where more than 60 rescued were given treatment in twin city Hubballi-Dharwad.
Sources said that the death toll which was 7 yesterday rose to 11 today with recovery of four more bodies by rescue teams from the debris. The teams of NDRF and Karnataka Fire Force is working round the clock since the incident took place on March 19.
Mr Kumaraswamy visited Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hubballi and General Hospital here, consoled the injured and assured them best treatment on government expense.
Rescue operation is still continuing since it was feared that about 10 to 15 girls who had come to Cyber Cafe in the commercial complex to register their names online for Railway recruitment examination.
The ill fated building had about 60 shops operating in the ground and first floor while the second and third floor was under construction.
