Tumakuru, Mar 17: A 55-year-old driver died of heart attack while driving a bus, but managed to save the lives of more than 60 passengers near Lakkanahalli village in Karnataka's Tumkur district on Friday.

Police said the deceased has been identified as Nagaraju of Madhugiri and the incident happened while he was driving a bus bound for Shira. When the bus reached Lakkanahalli, Nagaraju suffered a massive cardiac arrest, but managed to stop the vehicle by the roadside.
He alerted the conductor about chest pain and died while on the way to hospital.
"There were more than 60 passengers on board when the incident took place. They were later sent in another bus," the police said, adding that no case was registered in this connection.
