One of the top secrets of Mr Kateel, who had reportedly made continuous calls to a young woman from Adyar near Mangalore for last three years, has now been unveiled. According to documents Mr Kateel has called the same woman at least for 3,642 times.

The sensational issue was brought to light by Sudatta Jain, an independent candidate in DK constituency, who lodged a complaint with the deputy commissioner and district election officer AB Ibrahim and urged a thorough inquiry. Mr Jain was a former activist of Sangh Parivar and a labour leader.

According to Mr Jain the information was provided by Bharti Airtel. However, it is believed that an anti-Kateel faction within the saffron party might have played a role in this latest expose.

Prevent Media'

As soon as the issue was made public, a delegation of BJP leaders comprising of MLCs Ganesh Karnik and Monappa Bhandary met the deputy commissioner and reportedly urged him to take immediate measures to prevent the media from carrying the news.

Mr Ibrahim has clarified that he cannot curb the freedom of media. He also said that a thorough inquiry will be conducted into the issue after the elections.
