Kasaragod, Apr 23: He got ejected out of vehicle in the accident while passing through bridge on Chandragiri river
The driver of a fish-ladden truck was drowned in the Chandragiri river here after he got ejected out of the vehicle when it overturned while passing through the State Highway bridge in the early hours of Saturday.
The incident occurred around 5 a.m. as Nassermon, 38, the truck driver, lost control of the vehicle apparently owing to the early morning drizzle and the truck overturned on the bridge, damaging its side railings.
Nassermon was ejected out of the vehicle and fell straight into the waters, traffic police sources here said.
Nasser, a native of Punnappra in Alappuzha, was accompanied by the co-driver M. Harris, 36, his cousin, who escaped with minor injuries.
The tragedy occurred as the truck was proceeding from Goa to Alappuzha.
