Bengaluru, Nov 7: A heavily drunk Tanzanian student ran his car over a 58year-old milk vendor, killing him instantly in north Bengaluru on Sunday.
The rashly driven Opel Astra allegedly hit Velu Swamy , ramming him and his two-wheeler against the metal footpath railings.

The student has been sent to Central Jail, Parappana Agrahara. Police officers said the accident occurred around 5.50am at Hegdenagar Circle, off Thanisandra Main Road.
Velu Swamy , a resident of Hegdenagar, was out on his TVS XL moped to supply milk to establishments in the area. He had stopped his moped by the road when the car hit him. The milkman suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.
A mob allegedly pulled the three occupants out of the car and assaulted them before handing them over to police. Kevin was given first aid. A Chikkajala traffic police officer said the car was under a flagpost at the circle. The front portion was crushed and the moped underneath mangled. Even railings were mangled together in the debris.
Police said the three youths in the car were BCA students of Koshy's Group of Institutions on Hennur-Bagalur road. Police were verifying the details of the student's visa.
Kevin has been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Velu Swamy is survived by wife and son Arun, who is the complainant in the case.
