Mangaluru, Feb 4: Even a common man can venture into entrepreneurship and succeed as union and state governments have launched several schemes to encourage and promote start-ups, said S G Hegde, former joint director of District Industries Centre, Mangaluru.
He was delivering a talk onIndustry Policy and Subsidies' at a seminar onbusiness development and entrepreneurship' organised by the Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry at IMA Hall in the city on Friday.
Calling upon the participants to shed inferiority complex, Mr Hegde pointed out that many of the multi-billionaires and business tycoons of the country too had come from humble background and they had started their businesses with a small fund.
He, however, said that proper guidance and training is must for those who venture into entrepreneurship as they would face tough competitions and challenges in every field of the business. He also called upon the youths to utilize various schemes and loans in this regard.
Nithin J Shetty, chartered accountant, spoke onTrade and Entrepreneurship'. S M Rashid Haji, president, BCCI, presided over the programme. BCCI office bearers Khasim Ahmed HK, Zameer Ambar and Imthiyaz were present among others. Hafiz Abdul Rahman, student of Zeenath Baksh Hifzul Quran College, recited verses of Quran in the beginning.
