Mangaluru, Sep 9: A 22-year-old boy Prashanth alias Pacchu from Belthangady taluk died at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Tuesday after suffering from fever from four days.

He was the son of late Podiya Gowda and Honnamma from Pilattinja in Kaukradi village in Belthangady taluk.
Suffering from suspected jaundice and fever from the past four days, Prashanth had been taken to get him admitted to a hospital in Puttur on Monday for treatment. But since the fever showed no signs of receding, he was taken and admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
Despite best efforts, Prashanth failed to respond to treatment and died on Tuesday.
Employed as a mobile technician, he was said to have had good relations with people who knew him. He was known activist of Sangh Parivar organisations and was actively involved in organising several publicly held sports events.
Prajaprabhutva Vedike convenor Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, former chairman of Belthangady APMC Poovaje Kushalappa Gowda, Hindu Jagarana Vedike Nelyadi convenor Raviprasad Shetty, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Kokkada president Tukrappa Shetty, Kaukradi gram panchayat president M K Ibrahim, members Sundar Gowda, Mahesh Pilattinja and Radhakrishna Gowda, Zilla panchayat member Balakrishna Banajalu, taluk panchayat member Bhaskar Gowda and others visited his house and paid their last respects.
