Bengaluru, Apr 19: In what is good news for 6.4 lakh anxious II Pre-university students and parents, the evaluation process of II Pre-University answer scripts that was stalled for the past two weeks, finally kicked off with 4,300 evaluators turning up for work on Monday across various centres.
At the present pace, where the government is dependent on private evaluators, it expects the evaluation to be completed in the next three weeks.
Department sources said attendance will be monitored twice a day by external observers across 46 evaluation centres.
With the striking government lecturers — who have been issued show causes notices threatening action — refusing to fall in line, private lecturers are expected to commence evaluation work in many more camps across the State from Tuesday, while full-fledged evaluation is expected to begin on Wednesday.
However, with Tuesday being a government holiday (Mahavir Jayanti) the attendance in a few centres where evaluation is set to commence is likely to see thin attendance.
