Bengaluru,?Jan 28: S M Krishna, former Chief Minister and former Union External Affairs Minister, has decided to quit active politics, according to reports.

Krishna reportedly sent a letter to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi on his decision to retire from active politics. He has also requested to relieve him from the party's primary membership. He is likely to announce his decision on Sunday.
SM Krishna was the chief minister of Karnataka from 1999 to 2004. He later became the governor of Maharashtra and also served as minister of external affairs in the then UPA government.
