
Mangalore, Mar 30: Former President of India A P J Abdul Kalam will be visiting Mangalore on April 1.
He would interact with more than 1,600 students of various schools of Mangalore at TMA Pai Convention Hall in the city at 4.30 pm.
Addressing the media persons Zilla Panchayat CEO Tulasi Maddineni that the former president will spend time with students for about 50 minutes. During interaction, students may electoral process, ethical voting, role of youth, development issues, democracy and so on. However, they are barred from asking questions on political parties or individual.
The total seating capacity of the hall is 1,760. The students will have to give their names at the entrance for raising a question. The students have to produce their school/college identity cards at the venue to enter the hall. As there will be frisking, students are requested to be at the venue by 3.45 pm, she added.
Mr Kalam is part of the Election Commission 's voter awareness campaign as a national icon ' ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim has said that the ballot papers for service voters have been printed and dispatched. The answer script evaluation of SSLC and PU Board examinations will not be started from April 9 to 17, due to Lok Sabha polls.
