Bengaluru, Jul 17: IT-BT Minister K J George has said that 500 gram panchayats (GPs) in Karnataka have already been provided free Wi-Fi services and the rest will have them soon.

Speaking after inaugurating free Wi-Fi services for 180 GPs in Belagavi district today, George said that the state government would provide Wi-Fi services to all the GPs in the state in phased manner.
The service would help local body members availing 100 MB Internet services per day to browse various government websites.
Internet services are vital in today's world and hence rural people are being provided free WiFi, he stated.
