New Delhi, MAY 26: Girls outshone boys for yet another consecutive year in the Class XII board examinations held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The board announced the results of the examinations for all regions on Saturday.
Ghaziabad’s Meghna Srivastava emerged as the country topper in the board examinations while Anouska Chandra from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh came second.
The third position in the country was grabbed by seven students including Chahat Bodhraj from Jaipur.
The overall pass percentage for this year came at 83.01.
The pass percentage of girls in the board examinations remained higher than those of the boys.
While 88.31% girls came out with flying colours in the examinations, the pass percentage of boys was pegged at 78.99.
Meghna was a student of Step by Step School at Taj Expressway, Ghaziabad. Anouska studied in SAJ School located in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The CBSE conducted the class XII board examinations from March 5 to April 27.
