Kasaragod, Jul 1: The High Court of Kerala has directed the State Police Chief to provide adequate police protection to GAIL (India) Ltd and its contractors to carry out loading and unloading of pipes and other equipment for the execution of the Kochi-Kootanad-Bengaluru-Mangaluru gas pipeline.

The court issued the order on a petition filed by GAIL, Kalamassery.

The petitioner alleged that gas pipeline work in the Udyogamandal yard had come to a grinding halt following obstruction by workers’ unions demanding nokkukooli.
