Bengaluru, May 16: Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy was elected as the parliamentary chief of the party on Wednesday at a meeting held at Shangri-La hotel in Bengaluru's Vasantnagar.
Kumaraswamy alleged that BJP leaders offered JD(S) MLAs Rs 100 crore and a cabinet post each. When asked how many JD(S) MLAs have been approached (by the BJP), H D Kumaraswamy says, 'many of them'.
He was also seen apologetic in the press conference and said "there's a black spot on my father's career because of my decision to go with the BJP in 2004 & 2005. So God has given me opportunity to remove this black spot. So I am going with Congress," he said.
Kumaraswamy also said that there are people who are ready to leave BJP & come with JD(S). "If you try to poach one from ours, we'll do the same & take double from you. I'm also telling the Governor to not take any decision which encourages horse-trading," he said while adding that he is not sure what the Governor may do.
