Kalaburgi, Jul 20: Obliquely expressing sympathy for Parashuram Waghmore, one of the communal terrorists arrested on charges of murdering activist-journalist Gauri Lankesh, Rama Sena Karnataka (RSK) has blamed the Karnataka government and the police for “creating conditions for the emergence of Waghmore and alike”.

Addressing media representatives here on Tuesday, Sheetal Jain, north divisional convenor of the outfit, held that the killing of Ms. Lankesh would have been averted had the State government and police had taken stringent actions against those who “recklessly ridiculed and insulted Hindu deities in the name of freedom of expression”.

“We are not supporting Wagmore. He is held on charges of killing Gauri Lankesh and not yet convicted by the court. Law will take its own course. The State government and police did not take any action against those who continued to taunt and make derogatory remarks against Hindu gods. Their inaction gave birth to Wagmore. If the government continues to ignore the scornful reproach of Hindu deities, one in a thousand would emerge as Wagmore,” he said.

Mr. Jain also defended Manchaleshwari Tonashyal, a BJP Yuva Morcha leader from Vijayapura, who, in her recent Facebook post, had said that every household would give birth to Wagmore if the anti-Hindu activities continued.

“It is not right to project what Manchaleshwari Tonashyal wrote in her Facebook post on Wagmore. Ram Sena and the entire Hindu society are with her,” he said.
