Heavy vehicles prohibited on Shiradi Ghat till the completion of guard-walls

Hassan, Jul 19: The movement of heavy vehicles on the recently upgraded Shiradi Ghat stretch of National Highway 75 has been temporarily prohibited. 

Hassan Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri stated that only light motor vehicles would be allowed on the stretch as the road work is incomplete. The construction of guard-wall and shoulders along the stretch is not yet done.

If the heavy vehicles were allowed on the stretch the pending works would not go at the expected pace. The upgraded road was inaugurated on Sunday.

The vehicles allowed are two-wheelers, cars and mini-vans. Those prohibited are bus, luxury bus, bullet tanker truck and fish cargo containers.
