High School boy drowns in waterbody formed due to illegal sand-mining

Kasaragod, Jul 17: A 14-year-old boy drowned in a swollen waterbody at Ayitti, near Thrikkarippur in Kasaragod yesterday.

The police said T.P. Muhammed Susharaff, a Class 9 student of Government Higher Secondary School, Pilicode, drowned in the waterbody formed due to illegal sand-mining, around 5 p.m. when he entered the waters along with his friends while on a visit to the residence of a relative.

Muhammed Susharaff is the son of K.N.P. Musthaffa. Local people rushed him to a hospital at Payyanur where was declared ‘brought dead.’
