Mangaluru, Mar 22: Members of the district unit of Akhila Bharath Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) staged a ‘rasta roko’ demonstration near Mahaveer Circle at Pumpwell in city on Sunday, demanding that the case of suicide of IAS officer DK Ravi should be handed to the CBI for investigation.
They demanded that the state government and the home ministry should hand over the case to the CBI. The chief minister is turning away from his responsibility by refusing to hand over the case for a CBI probe, said state secretary of the organisation Dharmendra.
He further said that if the case of DK Ravi was not handed over to CBI by Monday, the organisation would call for a district bandh in the coming days and conduct intense protests in all taluks of Dakshina Kannada.
Stating their demands, the protestors blocked one of the roads at the circle and prevented vehicles from moving for a while before allowing them to move ahead.
ABHM members Rajesh Poojary, Shravan Kumar, Naveen Kumar, Chetan Mulya and others were part of the ‘rasta roko’ protest.
