Mangaluru, May 15: “Unexpected” was the first reaction from Dr Bharath Shetty when asked about his huge victory margin against Congress leader B A Mohiuddin Bava in Mangaluru North Assembly constituency.
“My victory was expected, but this margin was unexpected,” the new MLA of the constituency, who defeated Mr Bava by a margin of 26648 votes told coastaldigest.com.
The dentist-turned-politician said that the complete credit of his massive victory goes to the party workers who relentlessly worked. “The Modi-Shah wave also worked magic,” he said.
The political greenhorn said that his priority was to restore law and order in his constituency and carry out development works, which was his poll agenda too.
“Cattle theft is a major problem here. People are getting murder. I will take necessary steps to restore law and order,” he said.
