Bengaluru, Jun 28: Even as nearly a dozen of Congress legislators rushed to SDM Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital in Dakshina Kannada to meet Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara has indirectly hit out at former chief minister.

Speaking to reporters in Koppal after taking part in the passing out parade of the trainees at Munirabad Police Training Centre, Parameshwara said, “As president of KPCC, I am issuing this clarification that we have agreed to run this government for five years. What others are talking outside is irrelevant.”

To a query on Siddaramaiah expressing his doubts about the longevity of the government in the leaked video, Parameshwara said, “Outsiders talk in different way. For political

reasons, they say that this government will run for only one year. Some say two years. There is no need to give importance to the statements made in private.”

He reiterated that there was no confusion about the longevity of the government and that Kumaraswamy would present the budget.

Municipalities Minister Ramesh Jarakiholi, Health and Family Welfare Minister Shivanand Patil, Basavakalyan legislator B Narayanarao, Raichur MP B V Nayak among others met Siddaramaiah and held closed-door discussions.

Siddaramaiah, who chairs the Coalition Coordination and Monitoring Committee, is scheduled to return to Bengaluru on Thursday night. But the manner in which legislators rushed to meet him on Wednesday - some of them flew to the Mangaluru International Airport in a special flight from Bengaluru - raised eyebrows.
