Mangaluru Apr 4: Chief Whip of the government in Legislative Council Ivan D'Souza has filed an appeal with the returning officer against some officials who have cleared a name board that provided information on the development works initiated by the government.

"As per the Election Commission's guidelines, flex and banners should not have photographs of politicians. If there are photographs, stickers can be used for covering it. However, removing the banner is illegal," he said.

"If the politicians attending marriages, religious functions are considered to be violating the model code of conduct, are we untouchables?" he asked.

"The TMC has cleared the flex and banners with the details of a development work, along with my photographs," he reiterated.
