JD(S) National General?Secretary Danish Ali on Sunday said that people will decide on the caliber of those who make caustic remarks against former prime minister H?D Deve Gowda.

“Abdullah is educated is London. He can use his knowledge to ridicule. Our leader is from a rural background, we cannot hit back. So we have decided to let it go,”Ali said sarcastically.

Omar Abdullah on Saturday had to bear the brunt of hundreds of netizens for likening Gowda to Pakistan’s former president General Pervez Musharraf.

To a tweet by a Indian channel stating that it will interview Musharraf on Kulbushan Jadhav, Abdullah replied, “This is akin to Pakistani channels talking to Deve Gowda about developments in India. Irrelevant no matter how hard hitting“.

This led to him being trolled “Son of the Soil Sri Deve Gowda has done more for the Nation’s Development than the Runaway Crooks Abdullah family can even dream about”, BJP?State General?Secretary C?T?Ravi tweeted.

Ali pointed out that it was during Gowda’s tenure as prime minister that Gowda brought back Abdullah and his father Farooq back to India and installed the senior Abdullah as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
