It is suspected that the robbery took place between 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday and 12.30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The robbery was discovered when Ismail and other family members returned home from B C Road at 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

Tuesday being Eid-ul-fitr, Ismail along with family members left for his sister's residence in B C Road at noon. On returning, they realised they had been robbed.

The robbers broke into the house by breaking the bolt on the front door and made away with a gold necklace of 28 grams, gold bracelet of 6 grams, diamond jewellery and Rs 6,000 in cash.

The stolen jewellery and cash was valued at around Rs 3 lakhs.
