Bengaluru, Nov 30: The Karnataka Government has constituted ‘Air Quality Monitoring Committee’ as per National Green Tribunal (NGT) direction to prepare Action Plan for bringing the standards of air quality within the prescribed norms in the four cities of the State.
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) report, prepared after a study from 2011 to 2015, had stated that there are 102 cities in the country, including four in Karnataka--Bengaluru, Davanagere, Kalaburagi and
Hubballi-Dharwad which have been declared as ‘non-attainment’ cities for not meeting the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
