Bengaluru, Dec 10: Not withstanding the natural disaster, witnessed during the monsoon season this year in Kodagu, which had devastated several parts of the hilly district, due to unprecedented rains, Karnataka State Government, is likely to reject the implementation of the Kasturirangan Committee report on conservation of Western Ghats in the State.
According to official sources, the Cabinet sub-committee, headed by the Minister for Forest and Environment V Shankar, had reportedly recommended the state government to reject the Kasturirangan Committee report as it is not feasible to implement.
The State Government, which was hesitating on the issue, had twice written to the Center expressing its inability to implement it and had also constituted a Cabinet sub-committee, to look into it.
