Mangaluru, Mar 1: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that his constitutional position prevented him from responding to the recent “threats” of the RSS and allied organisations.
Sangh Parivar outfits had staged protests ahead of Vijayan’s visit to Mangaluru and also observed Dakshina Kannada district bandh on the day of his visit charging that he is involved in political violence against RSS?functionaries in his home turf Kannur.
This had prompted the government to make unprecedented security arrangements in Mangaluru and other parts of the district during Vijayan’s visit. He had come to Mangaluru by train addressed a communal harmony rally at Nehru Maidan in the heart of the city.
Vijayan has thanked Siddaramaiah for providing the necessary security and support during his visit to Mangaluru.
