Mangalore, Apr 7: Ahead of Lok Sabha elections in the state, the district unit of Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike (KKSV) released a manifesto on Monday with various demands on behalf of the people of Dakshina Kannada, seeking the kind of governance that stresses on and protects the fundamentals and principles enshrined in the Indian constitution.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, KKSV president Suresh Bhat Bakrabail said that the manifesto was released with the sole intention of defeating Fascist forces such as BJP and Narendra Modi in the upcoming elections.

“The single-point agenda of the manifesto with our demands is defeating communal forces in the elections. The social inequality among people of different religions is rapidly rising in the country, the prime reason for which is the use of advertises and public relations for political leaders. With the agenda of Hindutva and backing of giant corporate houses, the concept of Moditva is even dangerous in Hindutva in the country, which is multi-cultural country, he said, urging people not to vote for Fascist forces.

Stressing that the organisation was not in favour of any individual political party or candidate, he urged that the electorates should exercise their votes in favour of respective local candidates from secular parties. “It is left to the voters whom they want to elect,” he said, adding that the organisation or its members would not support any particular candidate in the elections.

Vasudev boloor, Shabeer, Satish Pengal and Ismat Fajeer were present.
