
According to the Fire and Emergency Services personnel in Kundapur, the fire station at Kundapur received a call around 10.30 a.m. and two fire tenders rushed to the spot to put it off.
The fire had broken out in bushes at Hoovinakere, Kedur, Belur, Achlady and at three places in Madhuvana.
The two fire tenders from Kundapur made seven trips and put out the fire, while a fire tender from Udupi made a trip to Madhuvana.
The fire at all spots was extinguished by 4.30 p.m. The local people also joined fire station officials and tried to beat down the fire with leaves.
Bharat Kumar, Fire Station Officer, Kundapur, said that as the bushes were dry and wind was blowing it took time to control the fire. The cause for the outbreak of fire was not known, he said. (Picture is for illustration purpose only)
