Bengaluru, Aug 12: Two brave lovebirds utilized a social media platform to counter the opposition of their families and entered the marital life in front of thousands of people by streaming their wedding rituals live on Facebook.

Kiran Kumar (25), a businessman from Madhugiri in Tumakuru district, and T Arpita (19), a II year BCom student from the same town were determined to live together in spite of the opposition from their families.
On Friday they tied the knot at a temple at Hesaraghatta in north Bengaluru which was witnessed by thousands of Facebook users. The couple said they decided to do so after their families raised objection to their relationship.
The two belong to different castes. Two get united, they had no other option but leaving their houses. Though they initially thought of waiting for a few weeks to convince their parents, the issue took a serious turn when the girl’s father, a politician, filed a complaint with police earlier this week.
“We wanted our families to come together and organise our marriage. But none of them cared for our feelings. Left with no option, we finally decided to marry at a temple,” Kiran said.
Taking the video as evidence, cops are planning to close the case. “We need to take the statement of the girl. She is not a minor and we cannot stop her from marrying a man of her choice,” police said.
