Madikeri, Dec 16: The Kodagu police on Tuesday arrested three persons in connection with the killing of a man during the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations in Madikeri on Nov 10.

Shahul Hameed, who was shot at on November 10, had died at a Mysuru hospital the next day.
The arrested are P?U?Kaverappa alias Kavan (31), SH?Bhishma alias Nanda (36) and K R?Ramesh (45), all activists of Sangh Parivar.
Kodagu SP Varthika Katiyar told reporters the three had decided to avenge the death of Devapanda Kuttappa, the district organising secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Kuttappa, who was leading the violent protests during the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations, found dead on the road during baton charge.
The police said that the killers had also taken part in the protest staged by the saffron outfits following the death of Kuttappa.
