Mangaluru, Oct 11: A married man has been arrested by Konaje police in Mangaluru taluk on charge of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy.

Arun Rodrigues (32), a resident of Pajir village was produced before a court by Konaje police after arresting him.
The victim was staying at a madrasa adjacent to a mosque in Malar village as he was obtaining education in a nearby school.
According to police, the accused came to the madrasa on Saturday afternoon and requested the cleric to allow him to visit the mosque and madrasa.
When the cleric left the mosque on some work, Arun took the minor boy outside the madrasa promising him a ride on his motorbike and chocolates.
However, the accused kidnapped the boy and took him to former’s house where the former allegedly sexually assaulted the latter.
The cleric, who returned to the mosque after some time, found the boy missing.
After neighbours told him that the boy had accompanied Arun, the cleric grew suspicious and went to his house along a few local youths.
The boy, who was inside Arun’s house reportedly told the cleric that the accused sexually assaulted him in the house.
Soon after a complaint was lodged, the police arrested Arun. It is learnt that Arun is a father of two children.
