Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said that there were two waves sweeping throughout the country – a pro-BJP wave and an anti-Congress wave. The end result of this will be a comprehensive victory for the BJP. Even the Muslim and Christian communities are slowly and steadily moving in favour of BJP 's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who has become a symbol of good governance in the country, he said, adding that Modi 's popularity was rising in the country.
Lashing at the Congress government, he said that the Christian community hardly got any benefits during the Congress rule. The BJP achieved in its first term in Karnataka what the Congress could not achieve in several terms. During the BJP 's rule, churches were given funds for renovation in several districts. A Hajj Bhavan was promised for the pilgrims in the state during the time when B S Yeddyurappa was the chief minister, he said.
Appealing to the Christian community that it would be prudent to support the BJP, he said, “People are convinced that only BJP can build a better and progressive India under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Even the pre-poll surveys have indicated the win of the BJP in the elections.”
When asked about the attack on churches in Mangalore during BJP 's rule six years ago, he brushed it away saying that no one was killed in those attacks. “On the other hand, thousands have died in refugee camps in Muzaffarnagar where Akhilesh Yadav is the chief minister,” he pointed.
Earlier, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik released the BJP manifesto at the party 's election office in the city.
