Mangalore, Oct 27:'Tale Singara', a compact disc containing Beary songs produced by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy was released by Dakshina Kannada District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai at a function held in the city.
Speaking on the occasion the minister assured all support from the government for the activities of the Academy.
Appreciating the programmes conducted by the Academy, he said that through its various activities the Academy was mingling with the common people and that was a positive step.
President of the academy B.A. Mohammed Hanif presided over the function. Tulu playwright Vijaya Kumar Kodialbail reviewed the 10 songs of the CD written by Muhammed Baddur.
Mr. Baddur, singers Ashraf Apolo, Suhail Baddur and Muhammed Iqbal Katipalla and music director Vijay were felicitated on the occasion.
Earlier in the forenoon, writer Chandrakala Nandavar inaugurated a study camp on Beary literature.
Addressing a gathering she said that the people of Beary community were making efforts to retain their identity through literary and cultural activities.
Mangalore North MLA B.A. Mohiuddin Bava also spoke on the occasion.
