Mangaluru, Apr 21: The Mangalore University did not make any delay in fulfilling the demand for introducing Arabic as an optional language for its Bachelor of Arts students.

According to M A Khan, Registrar (Evaluation), the constituent degree colleges of Mangalore University can apply for the Arabic as an optional language from the academic year 2017-2018.
Besides, the University has also decided to launch Diploma and Certificate courses in Arabic language from the next academic year.
It is worth mentioning here that during the last Academic Council meeting of the University held on March 23, one of the Syndicate members had proposed introduction of Arabic language. The vice chancellor Prof. K Byrappa too had endorsed the proposal.
Mr Khad said that the proposal has been now formally approved and already a few colleges have applied for the Arabic course.
