Mangaluru, Dec 14: Nineteen Indian workers were allegedly duped in Saudi Arabia by two Mangaluru based recruiting agents according to a complaint filed at Pandeshwar police station in the city.

The accused had promised all the workers to provide jobs at Afnan Al-Mashriq Est. For Contracting & Catering Services. The complainant said that the workers had paid Rs 65,000 and Rs 85,000 to Palepu Raja Gangaram, Oruganti Devadas, and Renjirla Raveendar alias Rejendar, said to be sub-agents of the said agency.
All were sent to Saudi Arabia on July 20, 2013 after their visa stamping and visa clearances were done through Arifa Tours and Travels, Nellikai Road in Mangaluru.
However, the reality hit them hard when they come to know they did not have Iqama residency permits. As a result, two of the workers named Murugu Chinnanarasaiah and Raguva Mallesh were arrested and remaining workers were facing various difficulties, the complainant alleged.
Pandeshwar police launched manhunt for the accused after registering the case.
