Mangaluru, Feb 14: The Dakshina Kannada district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party today staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office condemning the attack on the house of an MLA who made uncultured remarks against a former prime minister.

The protesters raised slogans against JD(S) workers who allegedly pelted stones at the residence of Preetham Gowda, BJP MLA from Hassan.

JD(S) workers pelted stones at MLAs residence in Hassan reportedly over a remark he made against ex-PM HD Deve Gowda in an audio-clip. MLA's supporter was injured in the stone pelting.

A first-time MLA from Hassan, Preetham, in an audio clip released on Wednesday, is purportedly heard telling Sharanagouda, son of JD(S) MLA Nagangouda Kandakur, that the JD(S) party would soon be history as Deve Gowda will die soon and Kumaraswamy’s health is not good.

“Ours is a national party and it will be there as long as the sun and moon exist,” Preetham purportedly tells Sharanagouda. “Deve Gowda’s wicket will fall soon. Kumaraswamy has health issues. So, the JD(S) will soon vanish,” he said.
