Mangaluru, Jul 17: The Central Crime Branch police have arrested have arrested one more person in connection with the murder of Deepak Rao at Katipalla 2nd block in Surathkal police station limits on January 3.
City Police Commissioner T R Suresh said the arrested is Safwan alias Chappu (23), a resident of Krishnapura 4th block, Surathkal. He was arrested at Mukka near Surathkal.
Deepak Rao (30) was hacked to death in broad daylight by four persons who came in a car. The police have arrested 12 persons already.
Safwan has been handed over to investigation officer Manjunath Shetty for further probe.
The police said that Safwan, who is the brother of main accused, Rizwan alias Rijju, is accused of procuring weapons for the murder.
