Mangaluru, Jan 21: City-based St Theresa's School, in its creative and artistic endeavour, has formulated a new method to teach Mathematics at all levels.
This concept has materialized with the setting up of a Math Park, which was inaugurated on Saturday, by Harinath, the Mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation and blessed by Rev Fr Anthony Shera.
This park provides opportunities for students to become more mathematically aware, capable and confident. The main objective of this park is to introduce Maths in creative and innovative ways, create an easy way to learn concept and help students with difficulties in Maths.
The models in the Park are Maths classification, Manual clock, Pythagoras theorem, Factor tree, X-Y Axis working Model, Abacus, Square, Pentagonal and Hexagonal Pyramids etc. It is one of the first of its kind in an Educational Institution in Mangaluru.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Sr Lillis, the Assistant Superior of Bethany Educational Society, Sr Mariette, the Secretary of BES, Prof Dr Devi Prabha, Mrs Sabitha Pimenta and Mr Naveen Dsouza, the Corporators, Sr Premitha, Sr Mercine, Sr Leena and Mr Sujeeth.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Sr Premitha and the programme was compeered by Mrs Sangeetha Vaz.
