Mangaluru, Sep 28: Social, Educational Welfare Association, a wing of Muscat based Muslim Welfare Association on Sunday distributed scholarship among 28 deserved students at a programme at Jamiyyatul Falah hall in Mangaluru.

Speaking on the occasion writer BM Ichlangodu called upon the parents to give more importance to the education of girl children for the development of the society and nation.
Expressing concern over misuse of modern electronic gadgets like smart phones among children, he said that this may lead to collapse of morality among the new generation.
Senior journalist Abdul Salam Puttige laid emphasis on the importance of time management among students and advised them not to be lazy bugs.
SEWA founder president AK Mohiuddin compered the programme. Dakshina Kannada district Wakf Advisory committee chairman SM Rasheed Haji, social activist Saduddin Salihi, former treasurer of SEWA Mohammed Husain Udupi, were present among others.
As many as 28 students who scored above 70% marks in degree and diploma courses were awarded scholarships on the occasion.
