Mangaluru, Aug 4: Two men lost their lives when their two-wheelers were knocked down by other vehicles in two separate road mishaps occurred on Saturday in Mangaluru.
Prajwal D'Souza (24) was killed when a lorry rammed into his motorbike from behind near Padil. The reckless driver dragged the victim for a few metres on the road by not stopping the lorry immediately. Later, the driver fled the scene.
By the time a 108 ambulance reached the spot, D’Souza had breathed his last. A private ambulance was called to transport the body to Wenlock hospital for post mortem as the 108 ambulance driver refused to take the body.
D'Souza, who hailed from Puttur, was staying in Padil as he was working as a watchman in city. The tragedy occurred when he was riding from Nathoor to Padil.
In a separate mishap, a 45-year-old man was killed when the motorbike he was riding was knocked down by another vehicle at Pavanje near Haleyangady.
Raveendra Poojary (45) was riding his scooter towards NIT-K in the morning when the tragedy took place. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
