Mangaluru, Jul 18: A 30-year-old man from the coastal city has been arrested and taken to Mysuru in connection with the repeated sexual assaults on three mentally changed siblings.
The arrested has been identified as Aban. According to police, he was one of the five miscreants who had abducted the siblings aged 16, 17 and 18 years from Udayagiri police limits in Mysuru, took them to different locations and seuxually abused them for nearly two years.
The girls had mysteriously gone missing from their house. The incident came to light after their poor single mother, who works as a domestic help approached Odanadi Seva Samsthe (OSS), a Mysuru-based non-government organization.
KV Stanley and ML Parashuram, the directors of the NGO said that one of the accused who lived nearby befriended the girls and lured them with goodies and took them away with the help of four friends, who are from Bhatkal, Mangaluru and Bengaluru.
The girls were reportedly pushed into prostitution and sexually abused in Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Mandya.
A case was registered at Udayagiri police station. Police tracked down the victims and brought them to Odanadi Samsthe for counselling and rehabilitation. During counselling, the girls provided details of the abusers.
As per the instruction given by the police, one of the girls yesterday made to call the mastermind from Mangaluru and he was tracked. As soon as he reached the city to meet the girls, the cops arrested him and took him to Mysuru for investigation.
