Nithyananda man
Bengaluru: Nov 27: A detailed report of a medical test conducted on self-styled godman Nithyananda, accused of rape, is said to have indicated that he possesses all the physical features of a man.

The report, along with a 31-page additional charge sheet, was submitted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to the third additional district and sessions court in Ramanagara on Wednesday.

It also indicated that Nithyananda's physical growth was commensurate with his age. The CID has already filed a charge sheet with regard to a complaint lodged by an NRI woman accusing?Nithyananda of raping her.

A team of doctors from Victoria Hospital in?Bengaluru conducted a few tests, including blood, urine and hair tests, on Nithyananda on September 8. The report contains details of results of these tests.

Nithyananda's counsel moved a petition regarding?the foreign visit of the accused. Judge Manjula posted the matter for hearing at 3 pm. Nithyananda collected the report submitted by the CID from his advocates and studied it for about 20 minutes.

Senior advocates C?V?Nagesh, Pramila Nesargi and Ravi Nayak, representing Nithyananda, were present at 3 pm when the hearing resumed. Nagesh presented his arguments for more than an hour. The judge posted the next hearing for December 3 and January 12, 2015, directing the accused to be present on both the occasions.

After the hearing, Nayak and Nagesh told reporters that there was no truth in the allegations levelled by the CID against?their client.?The charge sheet contains names of 48 persons whom, the CID claims, Nithyananda victimised. However, it lacks their statements. The CID recorded the statement of Nithyananda's former car driver Lenin Karuppan. “We will highlight such lapses in the next hearing,” they said.

The counsels said the court has been informed about the proposed foreign visit of Nithyananda and the High Court has permitted his trips abroad.

CID?advocate Vadavadagi said he submitted to the court the documents sought by Nithyananda's counsel.

Nithyananda Dhyanapeetham, however, claimed that the doctors had nowhere stated in the report that he was capable of performing a sexual act.?

The reports confirmed hypogonadism, extremely low levels of the male hormone testosterone. Only 12.50 mg/dl of testosterone is present in Nithyananda whereas its normal levels in adult males (aged 31-49) range from 249 mg/dl upwards. The report shows he has just five per cent of the lowest testosterone level required to be even considered a man, the Dhyanapeetham claimed.

Mangaluru: In a significant step to curb online hate and intimidation, Mangaluru City Police have registered a suo motu case against multiple Instagram accounts accused of circulating alleged provocative and threatening content.

While monitoring social media activity on Tuesday, Kankanady Town PSI Anitha Nikkam identified the Instagram handle ‘team_targetttt_900’ for posting a hate message alongside images of lethal weapons. Another account, ‘team_nagara_900’, allegedly shared a threatening post targeting activist Bharath Kumdelu, tagging additional pages such as KARAVALI-OFFICIAL.

Several other accounts — including ‘immu_bhai.fan’, ‘target_boy_900’, ‘kings_of_manglore’, ‘team_target_boys.900’, ‘arshad_mangalore’, ‘target_ka19_ullal’, ‘team_target__’, ‘troll_tigersz_900’, ‘tr_group_900’, and ‘team_target_900’ — are also under scrutiny for spreading similar inflammatory material, police said.

Online hate can quickly escalate into real-world harm, and police stress that sharing or promoting such content can attract legal consequences.
