Abu Dhabi, Mar 6: Cinemas in the emirate of Abu Dhabi will resume operations with limited capacity, local authorities announced on Saturday.
Cinema halls can function at 30 per cent capacity while following all precautionary measures including wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and regular sanitizing, the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee said.
Following the latest announcement, theatres have already opened ticket booking from Saturday.
VOX Cinemas announced that it would open its doors.
“We’ve reopened our doors in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain in compliance with government guidelines. We can’t wait to welcome you back and start creating great moments together again. See you soon,” they said in a social media post.
Cine Royal has opened bookings as well, with reduced capacity across malls in the city.
“For your comfort and peace of mind, a reduced capacity of seats are available. Seats next to your selection will be left vacant to maintain physical distancing between guests,” Cine Royal told in its advisory.
Cinema halls had been shut down since February 5, 2021, as a precautionary measure.
